No. The FiOS remote is pretty much limited to volume, power, and input. Voice commands are for the TV One STBs.

Weird. I would have thought the opposite. That the green light would be the coax and the one with no light would be wireless.

A cold boot won’t erase the either hard drives but on the older boxs you need do need tech support do it. 

I would definitely try that first before getting rid of the DVR. In the meantime you can use the remote in the FiOS app on your phone or tablet to control the box. 

After that you’ll most likely need to watch your recordings and have it replaced.

I would definitely see if it works after services are installed but if that doesn’t work try uninstalling the reinstalling. I’ve see posts on here saying that worked.

Thanks for the reply.  I am currently using the box by the remote app.

 

I just had a tech do the Cold Init. Unfortunately it didn't restore the front IR.  So I'll watch everything on it and then ask for a replacement box.

No one else has any input on this? I'm the only one trying Dolby Digital via HDMI and having an issue?

 

If you do have Dolby Digital via HDMI from the FiOS box working, can you let me know your setup?

I've searched and searched, so now I post.

Are there instructions somewhere to program the new FIOS TV One remote for a specific TV? In my case that would be an LG TV.

I’m not in front of TV right now but in Settings go to Voice Control and there is a Manual option and it will ask you to enter your TV brand and follow the steps.

I have been experiencing an annoying issue with the new voice remote is FIOS TV One.  Most of the time it detects my voice fine and tunes to the channel I asked for. On occasion, I will ask for a channel and it displays what I said correctly but then it will say "Tuning to Launching Premium Channels".  This is channel 940 in my area.  The annoying part is that this is actually a widget so it takes about 5 seconds to load and then brings me to a screen that allows you to purchase additional premium channels.  For example, I pressed and held in the voice button , then said "CNBC".  Up on the top line of the screen it displayed CNBC which means it understood me but then it brought me to Channel 940, the Premium Channel widget.  I tried again and then it brought me correctly to CNBC.  It seems like the default behavior if it does not know what to do is to bring you to the Premium channel screen.  If it was any other channel I would not mind so much, but because this particular default channel is a widget, you have to sit and wait for it to load.  I thought maybe I could try blocking that channel but it does not come up as a channel you can block.  Not a big problem but just annoying when I am switching back and forth between channels using my voice.  It has happened on all of my STB's with all of my remotes.  Would love to find a way to get it to stop picking that channel when it gets confused.

Sign-in problem

In order to watch content on MSNBC.com, I first have to sign in with my provider, i.e., Verizon. However, when I click on Verizon, the time circle spins around and says I'm verified but then sends me right back to the MSNBC home page without allowing me to sign in.Then I'm still told that I have to sign in with my provider and I can't access any episodes or clips. So I'm back to square one. I've tried again a few times, with the same non-results. Why, and how do I fix this?

Light on Set top box always on

On my new set top box the front light is always on even after I press the power off button on the remote. When this happens my TV will display the "press the menu button to watch tv indicator". Is there a way to get this light to turn off without unplugging the box?

Fios sucks! It’s so hard to record anything, even if you can find it, and it’s playing they make it hard to record it. Why would you not be able to record something if it’s not on yet but will be. Get with the times fios!

Hasn’t Changed for the better in the 6 years I’ve had fios.

Mystery solved - changed changed coax to wifi on one mini and the right light came on green when connected; changed wifi to coax on the other mini and the green light disappeared, leaving only the white left light.  So - - the right green light means it is connected to wifi.

I don’t understand what’s so hard. You go in the guide and find the show hit the red record button. Hit it once that is a one time recording and hit it twice it will ask if you want to record the series. 

Over the years I have had a DVR with Comcast, DirecTV, and FiOS and the functionality of all of them are the same.

Update - after experimenting with this I think I found the issue.  When pressing the voice button I would simply say the channel I wanted.  Most of the time it would get it right but often get it wrong and redirect me to the Premium Channel order screen as described in previous post.  I realized that the voice remote is much more accurate if you preceed and channel with "tune to".  So now when I hold in the voice button I would say "Tune to CNBC" instead of just "CNBC".  Using "tune to" is much more accurate. And now if it does not understand me it will say "unable to execute the command" and leave me on the current channel instead of redirecting me to the annoying "Premium Channels" order screen.

I disagree. I have three TVs with DVR access on each one and my total costs for Fios equipment is $4.99/month. And no I do not have any special promotions on my account.

 

I bought my own equipment (a Tivo Bolt and Minis). I save at least $35/month this way. After the first three years, I recouped all of my costs for the Tivo and now just enjoy the savings!

Help-Close to Cancelling

I'm furious. I'm close to cancelling my whole service. Several of my channels have been inactive for the last couple of weeks, and its been impossible to get a hold of a Verizon represntative. I've been on hold for an hour, and I still haven't spoken to anyone. And this is the third time I've tried. 

 

I also have attempted to speak with someone using the chat function, and the conversation abruptly ended almost as quickly as it began. After I told them I had inactive channels, they instructed me to call customer service. 

 

I'm seriously considering bringing this up to my county cable regulator. This is getting ridculous. I'm petrified that it'll be worse when I attempt to switch my service for a move that'll happen in February.
